It’s been almost four years since I last set foot in one of my favorite cities in the world: London. I was last there for the whirlwind known as World Travel Market, one of the largest travel trade shows in the world. There, I hung out with bloggers and did my best to network with potential partners. More than anything, I ended up eating (and drinking) a lot in business attire. But Sammi tagged along and we made time for a side-trip to Bath.
This time around I’m going with Sammi and my mom to visit my youngest sister, Rachel, who is studying abroad in Oxford for the summer, where we’ll take the train immediately after landing. That means a new city for me (yay!) with lots of photos of the gorgeous campus and its uses in film and television (Harry Potter!). I expect lots of walking and taking in the natural surroundings, but I want to hear your tips! We’ll be there for two days.
Then it’s back to London for more sightseeing for Rachel, who hadn’t been prior to this trip, and seeing the few I hadn’t so far. I’m also looking forward to meeting up with blogger friends (so many!) and stalking out the awesome street art in Shoreditch. We’ll also be going on the new Eating London Twilight Soho Tour, which covers one of my favorite neighborhoods. I can’t wait to eat some of my favorite dishes, specifically a lamb roast with real Yorkshire pudding and the fish and chips from Golden Hind. And all the pints.
I’m excited to stay in another apartment rental this time around, as it provides a more local experience. It’s also difficult to book rooms for four people at a reasonable rate, especially in a city in Europe in summer. We’ll be staying in Earl’s Court, right in the middle of everything.
